Changing your Fire Surround

Replacing a complete fireplace can be expensive, but by keeping your existing fire and fireplace insert and changing just the fire surround, you can significantly change the look of your room.

There are many reasons you may wish to change the appearance of your fireplace, from just being bored with your existing fire surround, the purchase of new furniture or just moving into a new home, replacing the fire surround is simple!

• Remove and measure your existing fire surround
• If you have skirting board cut up to and above the Hearth, Measure the gap.
• Measure the Hearth
• Measure the interior of the fireplace. Interior may be Marble, Cast iron insert, Tiled insert ECT.
• Measure how far the interior protrudes from the plaster or brickwork; if Marble insert for example, measure the distance from the wall to the front edge of the Marble, this will give us the measurement of the Fire Surround Rebate required.
• Finally, choose a design of fire surround, we will work out the sizes for you and let you know if that deign is suitable.

Fire surrounds can be supplied with easy to fit concealed brackets at a cost of £4.00, which are designed to hang the surround on the wall. If at some stage you decide to redecorate the room, you simply lift the surround off the wall in order to paint or paper, and then simply place the surround back into place.
